Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a solar installer already?

You need to be a licensed, insured contractor with solar installation experience or a crew capable of completing solar installations to Terra's standards. We're not training new installers — we're partnering with established crews.

Who handles permits, inspections, and PTO?

Terra handles permitting, interconnection paperwork, and PTO coordination. External Installers are responsible for completing the install to Terra's standards and passing required inspections.

Can I also refer customers to Terra?

Yes. Many of our External Installers also participate in the Referral track — sending leads from their existing customer base and earning on those referrals on top of their install work. Your account rep can walk you through how that works.

Am I a Terra employee or a contractor?

You are considered a 1099 contractor.

When do I get paid?

Earnings are tied to completed installations. Specific timing is covered in your onboarding call and tracked through the Partner Portal.
